Dear Lucerne Elementary Families;
Due to the current road conditions many staff can't safely commute to school. We will delay the start of school until 9:30 a.m. this morning. 
Our school phone equipment was damaged during the recent storms causing the school phones inoperable. We are making progress, but still are unable to receive calls to the school.  If you need to reach the school you may call our Lucerne Elementary cell phone at (707)298-4445. Due to the high volume of calls during a school day, please only use this number if necessary. The school office is open and staff is here to assist you as well.

School is open today. The bus is running today but is delayed. Please anticipate a 10-15 minute delay in pick-up this morning. Remember, today is also minimum day for all students.

We are planning on reopening school on Tuesday, February 28th. If weather or power issues prevent the school from opening safely messages will be sent at 6 a.m. to notify you that school has been canceled. 
Dear Lucerne Elementary School Families;
Due to the severe winter storm that is anticipated to start this evening all schools in Lake County have decided to remain closed tomorrow, Monday, February 27th. Please be prepared for the possibility of power outages and freezing temperatures. It is our hope to reopen school as soon as possible and we will send an update tomorrow evening. 

Due to anticipated inclement weather or emergency road conditions, it may become necessary to close school on Friday, February 24, 2023.  Information regarding school closures will be available after 6:00am on Friday, February 24, 2023. You can access online information by visiting our school website and Facebook page. We will send out a text notification to the phone numbers we have on file. If you need to update your phone number, please call the school office (707)274-5578 during normal business hours 8:00am-4:30pm.

STEAM Camp 
February 21st-24th from 2:30-4:30 (K-3rd) and 3:00-4:30 (4th-8th)
We are inviting 30 students to join us in a 4 day camp after school.  The camp will be focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Engineering (STEAM).   The camp will run from 3:00-4:30 from February 21st- February 24th. 

Lucerne Elementary School will be closed on Monday, January 16th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 17th. Have a safe and fun holiday!

Winter Wonderland Intersession Enrichment Program
There is limited availability in the program, so return or pick up an application now if you want your Lucerne student to participate. The winter intersession program is scheduled for 12/19/2022 - 12/23/2022 from 8:00am-5:00pm.  Students will enjoy a week of Art, Coding, Music and Dance at no cost to families! The activities for this evening will be centered around the story "Stone Soup", which is a story about a community coming together to support one another. Students have the opportunity to earn 10 soar points by participating! There will be games, literacy activities, goal setting, crafts, and dinner.  We look forward to coming together as a community and enjoying each others’ company!

We are having a Washington D.C. informational meeting for parents and guardians  of students who are currently in 7th and 8th grade. The meeting will be on Wednesday, September 28th at 5:30 p.m. in room C-11. 
This trip is run by World Strides and is open to all eligible students that can cover the costs of the trip. If you would like more information please attend the meeting or call Megan Grant for more information.
