Fall Intercession Camp
Three Days of Activities! November 25-27, 2024 we will be offering a Fall intersession camp for a very limited number of students in grades 1st-6th grades.
We can only accept thirty (30) students, so get your application in soon! We will notify you of your acceptance before the program begins.
Our program will run from 8:00am-5:00pm, and all students must be picked up by or before 5:00pm.
Some of the exciting things that will be happening during this camp will be: Games, Art and Crafts and more..... Your student will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Get your applications in by November 15, 2024 before it gets filled up!
Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 2:00a.m. On Saturday night, clocks are set back 1 hour (i.e., gaining one hour) to “fall back.” Sunrise and sunset will be about 1 hour earlier on November 3, 2024, than the day before. There will be more light in the morning.

LUCERNE SCHOOL FALL CARNIVAL
The Lucerne Student Council will host the 2024 Fall Carnival on Friday, October 25th from 6:00-8:00pm., in the gym. Come out and join us for exciting carnival games, face painting and fun prizes! A Halloween costume contest will be held at 7:15pm. Admission is $1 per person or $5 per family. Our ability to make change is limited, so please bring small bills to pay the entry fee. RED RIBBON WEEK
Lucerne Elementary will participate in Red Ribbon Week on October 28th through November 1st. The theme of the 2024 Red Ribbon Week is, “Life is a Movie. Live Drug Free.” This is an annual “Red Ribbon” Alcohol and Drug Awareness campaign, which is enthusiastically supported by the State Department of Education. Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America. And, perhaps more importantly, Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe. During Red Ribbon Week, There will be classroom activities, contests and students will have chances to win prizes.
Wednesday, October 23rd is a minimum day for all students. Students in the TK-3rd grades will be released at 1:00pm. Students in grades 4th-8th will be released at 1:30pm.

We are currently monitoring the fire situation in Glenhaven and will inform parents if Lucerne Elementary is escalated to an advised evacuation. At this time, we are NOT under an evacuation order. The afterschool program will be cancelled today to students, so please make arrangements to pick up your students after school today at dismissal time.

Wednesday, August 28th is a minimum day for all students. for Back to School night. Students in grades TK-3rd release at 1:00pm. Students in grades 4th-8th release at 1:30pm. Back to School night is from 6:00pm -7:00pm. We will start at 6:00pm in the gym prior to going to classrooms.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We regret to inform you that, despite our efforts, we have not yet been able to fill our bus driving position. We understand that the lack of transportation services significantly impacts our families and students, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
We are reaching out to ask for your support in resolving this issue. You can assist us by sharing our job opening with anyone you know who is qualified or interested in becoming qualified to drive a school bus. The more we spread the word, the better our chances of finding someone to fill this critical role.
Additionally, if you are able to help, another way to support our students is by offering rides to school for children in your area. This small act of kindness can make a big difference in ensuring that all of our students have reliable transportation to school each day.
