Parents and Guardians can claim one test kit for each Lucerne student in their household. These tests are a resource to families to monitor COVID-19 at home or before and after any travel. Lucerne Elementary School Families and Staff: As we head into a new week of school it is important for everyone to be aware of our current situation in regards to the transmission of COVID-19 in our county and at our school. There has been a substantial increase to positive cases over the last week resulting in many staff and students having to quarantine. If this trend continues this week, we might have to make the decision to close classrooms or the entire school. If closure is deemed necessary, families will be notified as soon as possible but it might be very little notice. Our goal is to keep the school open and safe for those that attend. As a community member you can support us at the school by; Calling the school office and reporting any positive cases as soon as possible Keeping sick students at home If unvaccinated, test and quarantine quickly when you or a student has been exposed to a positive case Make sure that your students come to school with a well-fitting mask If you have not already received an at-home test kit we still have a few remaining to distribute to families. They are limited so please come by or call the office if you are interested in getting a testing kit.

Lucerne Elementary School Families We hope that each of you have had a great winter break. The staff is ready to get back to teaching and supporting your student's academic growth. We are also committed to keeping the staff and students healthy and safe. We will continue to require masking indoors and outdoors with health screenings prior to entering the school. Also, we ask that if your student is sick please keep them home and call the office to let them know the symptoms. You will then be directed as to the next steps for testing or quarantine measures. CDPH has given our school several at-home antigen testing kits. These kits will give COVID results in 15 minutes, and are meant to be used if there has been a close contact or signs of an active viral infection. Each kit has two tests that can be administered at home. We will have these kits available for parents or guardians to pick-up in front of the school on Monday, January 3rd from 8:10-8:30 a.m., 2:10-2:30 p.m., and from 2:50-3:10 p.m. We will give one kit to each student in your family while supplies last.

Dear Families, During this time off from school December 20-31 for Winter break, we want to express our gratitude for everyone who has helped keep our students safe, healthy, connected and learning. We thank: ● Our students and families who are persevering through hard times. ● Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming place where students can learn. ● Our administrators who have pulled double duty and filled in for their colleagues. ● Our many, many healers and helpers - the support staff who provide the extra hands and attention our children need. May these days off be restful and healing. Many of you are grateful to see the faces of loved ones whom you have missed during the pandemic. Many are grieving empty seats at the table. Some are struggling to put food on the table or may have no table at all. If your family or your child need support, please reach out to Healthy Start Program Director, Ana Santana (707)262-4153 asantana@lakecoe.org We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on January 3, 2022. As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers. Thank you for partnering with us to help your child learn, thrive and succeed.
