Lucerne Elementary School is situated on six and one-half acres. Lucerne Elementary School is a Kindergarten through eighth grade school that was established in 1923. The current school site was built in 1974.
Lucerne Elementary offers many extra-curricular activities for our students. We offer a sports program that includes boys basketball, track and golf. The girls teams include basketball, track, volleyball and softball.
We offer a GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program. One of the activities they enjoy is participation in a Book Club. Our leadership class meets one day a week, after school, and is very active in the planning and running of many school activities and fundraisers. Some of the activities they plan and host are the fall and spring plays, the Fall carnival, the talent show, and the Winter program.
Annual health screening is available to students, including vision, dental and hearing. Health and Social Services are available at our school. A Speech Therapist is available one day a week, and a School Psychologist, three days per week. Lucerne school offers our students services of a full-time counselor and part-time social worker.
The next meeting of the Lucerne Elementary School District Board of Trustees is Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. in room C-8. School Board meetings are open to the public.

TEACHER COLLABORATION DAY
A teacher collaboration day is scheduled for Wednesday, January 27th. This will be a minimum day for students. The minimum day schedule is as follows:
Early Start Kindergarten 12:30 p.m.
Late Start Kindergarten 1:30 p.m.
Primary (1-3) - 1:00 p.m.
Upper Grades - 1:30 p.m.
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL NEWS
The next school site council meeting will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 7:30 a.m. in room C-8.
This is a great opportunity to learn about school programs and increase parent involvement.
Students and teachers are focusing on the character pillar of RESPECT in January. Please discuss with your student ways they can show RESPECT this month. The next Character Counts assembly will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
AFTER-SCHOOL HOMEWORK ROOM
We are offering after school homework rooms in the 1st - 8th grades. 1st- 3rd grade will be offered from 2:30-3:30 p.m., and 4th-8th grade will be offered from 3:00-4:15 p.m. daily. Please contact the school if you are interested in your student receiving after school homework help (707)274-5578.
DESSERT AND DANCING WITH DAD
On February 5th from 6:00p.m-8:00p.m, the Booster Club will be hosting an ice cream social and dance. Fathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or any father figure, with a special girl that attends Lucerne Elementary is invited to spend an evening of ice cream, music, dancing, pictures and more!
